Teresa Giudice, Danielle Staub Revisit Real Housewives of New Jersey Table Flip: Is Everything Really Forgiven?

"You were stripping! Prostitution whore! You were f—king engaged 19 times?! You f—king stupid bitch!" With those words (and a table) that Teresa Giudice hurled at Danielle Staub, reality TV and The Real Housewives of New Jersey history was made.

The pair, who reunited over yoga and are now friends on RHONJ, revisit that moment in the Wednesday, Nov. 29 episode of the Bravo reality series.

"Calling me a ‘prostitution whore' in front of them," a teary Danielle says to Teresa about her kids and that infamous moment in the exclusive clip above, "rocked my world."

The two are participating in Siggy Flicker's retreat where they are asked to revisit a moment they felt wrong by another of the RHONJ ladies.

"My kids got bullied for that too," Danielle says about "prostitution whore." Christine was 13 at the time, Jillian was 11. In the clip, you can see their reactions to Teresa's outburst.

Danielle just needs to hear Teresa say she didn't intend to hurt her kids back in 2009 when she flipped the table.

"I didn't mean to call you those names, that just came out of anger…If I had to take it back, I would take it back," Teresa says.

But will Teresa make amends with Danielle's daughters?

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. on Bravo.

The French oven is a timeless standby for stews, roasts, soups, casseroles and other one-pot classics. Staub has perfected this tradition in their signature “La Cocotte” French Oven, chosen and loved by some of the world’s best chefs. The traditional round design has self-basting spikes for continuous, natural basting. Take it from the oven straight to the table—it's stunning as a serving dish. Staub cookware's enamel coating makes it indestructible and highly chip resistant, as well as keeping it from discoloring. The cast iron cookware retains the heat, keeping the dish warm long after it's been taken out of the oven or off the stove. It cooks food evenly, making the end result more consistent in texture and taste. The special ceramic bottom also makes it possible for use on all types of heating surfaces.

It's hard to look at the French company's picturesque cast iron and ceramic wares and not daydream about the *magnifique* things you'll make in them. Staub specializes in enameled cast iron cookware made in Alsace, which makes for superior browning and heat retention (perfect for those hours-long braises). The pieces work hard, but they’re pretty enough to go straight from stovetop/oven to the table. They take on a variety of shapes and colors, but we're partial to the cocottes with a deep blue hue and brass knobs exclusive to our Shop.

My research interest focuses on how our built environment shapes and is shaped by our understanding of culture. My new book, to be published in the Spring of 2018 by Routledge as an edited volume, looks at “modernity” in various cultural contexts, how this concept is expressed spatially through architecture and urban form, and how this has affected women in their everyday lives. Modernity in architecture and urbanism has been seen as a cycle of “creative destruction” associated with an idealized masculinity; in 22 chapters the book uses the lens of gender to explore how broader definitions of cultural modernity have intersected with this concept of physical and social renewal, and if such definitions can be considered socially sustainable.

My 2015 book, Conflicted Identities: Housing and the Politics of Cultural Representation, is an examination of how political and cultural processes shape our built environment. In this work, I examine how nation states use officially sanctioned architecture to create a national identity that often diverges greatly from an identity represented by the vast realm of domestic space defined largely by those who occupy it. Using West Germany of the 1950s and 1960s as a case study, I examine how public architecture expressed an ubiquitous modernity and a rapid break from a tainted past, while domestic architecture expressed the Federal Republic’s often contentious path towards social renewal. In my examinations, I combine several methods of analysis, including interpretations of plans, photographs and films, analysis of historical texts and proceedings, and analysis based on class-based and feminist theory.

As a member of the Department of Architecture’s Culture, Society and Space (CSS) Research Cluster, I have supervised research projects that have examined cultural aspects of housing and urban spaces in countries as diverse as the United States, Russia, Germany, China, India, Turkey, and Iran. With experience as a professional architect and as a researcher, I teach a third-year design studio course in the professional B.Arch program as well as a research methods course and a course in architectural ethics at the graduate level.

I enjoy the lively exchange of ideas that one finds at conferences and professional meetings, and have presented and published my work at such meetings internationally. I have received research and teaching grants including a Penn State President’s Fund for Undergraduate Research Grant in 2016, a College of Arts and Architecture Faculty Research Grant in 2015, and a Raymond A. Bowers Grant in 2013. I have received external grants for my work from the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., the German Academic Exchange Service, and the German Research Foundation.

I received my Ph.D. at the Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) at Cottbus, Germany and my architecture degree at the University of the Arts in Berlin, Germany. Before that, I completed my undergraduate work in Psychology at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York. I practiced architecture in Berlin and worked as a junior faculty member at the BTU Cottbus before joining Penn State in 2001.
