Solved: Dyson Brush Bar Won’t Spin

I recently resolve an issue with our Dyson DC14 Vacuum and thought I’d share the extremely simple solution as I didn’t see it on Dyson’s site nor in the user’s manual.

Symptoms: Main brush bar on Dyson DC14 won’t spin at all. Belt is still in great working condition and brush bar can be turned by hand with no substantial resistance. Symptoms began after the brush bar caught on some clothe.

Cause: The belt motor has a safety mechanism that prevents it from turning after a serious obstruction has blocked the brush bar. This prevents it from causing additional damage and/or wearing out the motor.

Solution: Check the brush bar to ensure that there isn’t any hair or thread that is caught. Stand the vacuum upright. Press the brush bar switch (next to the power button on the DC14) 4 or 5 times. This resets the safety mechanism.

They also ensure continuously strong suction because dirt enters from the top, deposits at the bottom, accumulates upward, and air exits through the sides, which allows unimpeded airflow as they fill to capacity. And they can be sealed when full, so no dust can escape into the air during bag removal and disposal.

In contrast, without bags to hold nearly all the captured dirt, the microfilters on bagless vacuums quickly clog from excessive dirt build-up and must be replaced often, or a loss of suction and cleaning effectiveness will occur. In addition, dust and other allergens become airborne when emptying bagless dirt containers.                 • Das Gleiche gilt auch für die verschiedenen Dichteeinstellungen, die an den elektrischen Zigarettenstopfmaschinen möglich sind. Das ist nicht nur Geschmackssache des Rauchers, sondern auch Teil der Funktionsfähigkeit der Maschine. Da müssen Sie einfach mit Ihrem Tabak und Ihrer Maschine experimentieren, bis Sie Zigaretten erhalten die Ihnen zusagen.
